U.S. Hispanic Business Council Announces Don Salazar as Chairman of the Board

The United States Hispanic Business Council (USHBC) announced today the appointment of Don Salazar, founder and CEO of Creative Times, Inc. (CTI), as Chairman of its Board of Directors.

For over 30 years Utah-based CTI, a design/build federal contractor, has completed thousands of projects across the United States in the public and private sector. Today, CTI employs over 100 Americans and continues its aggressive growth by delivering for a variety of clients including the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, Department of Defense, Bureau of Land Management and General Services Administration.

"It is an honor to be named as the Chairman of the USHBC. I have always believed that the Hispanic business community needs a strong, national advocate that would not only point out the inadequacies and unfairness when it comes to Hispanic business owners, but emphasize the tremendous contribution our businesses have made to the U.S. economy. We consistently exhibit hard work, above standard professionalism, and pride in ourselves as Americans," said Don Salazar, USHBC Chairman. "I have witnessed and been subject to being forced to climb a steeper ladder simply because of my heritage. With the USHBC, I hope to ensure that these same conditions do not exist for the next generation of Hispanic entrepreneurs. Our work at this courageous organization will allow us to rewrite the rules that have unfairly put up barriers to our community. With the creation of the USHBC, we loudly say 'no more'."

Over the span of his career, Mr. Salazar has earned an array of awards and accolades including being named Utah Minority Small Businessman of the Year, as well as the United States Small Business Administration's Contractor of the Year Award. Beyond his chairmanship of the USHBC, Salazar also serves on the Advisory Board for Zions Bank, and the Board of Trustees at Weber State University.

Said Javier Palomarez, President and CEO of the USHBC, "I'm delighted to once again be working with Don Salazar. For decades Don and his family have been strong advocates for America's Hispanic business community. He has humbly and selflessly volunteered his time, talent and financial resources while serving as the former Chairman of the Board at the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Utah Hispanic Chamber and the Ogden Hispanic Chamber. Our community of taxpayers, job creators, and business builders are fortunate to have Don Salazar once again at the helm."
