These seventeen winners were selected in November 2013 from 687 total entries. Three independent judges selected 16 winners and the towing industry voted on the People's Choice.

The Contest is open to towing companies in the United States and Canada. Winners receive cash prizes, award plaques and first place and Grand Prize winners appear on the cover of Tow Times magazine.

Contest History
Early 1990s - Tow Times magazine began a nationwide tow truck Beauty Contest. Entrants submitted photos and our readership judged the Contest using mail-in ballots.
April 1995 - International Trucks partnered with Tow Times to grow the Contest and move it to the next level. Through their relationship with Richard Petty Enterprises, Contest Grand Prize winners received a trip to the Daytona 500 where Mr. Petty presented them with their award. The Contest was named the Shine 'n Star Contest and branding began.
April 2003 - Ford Trucks assumed Sponsorship of the Shine 'n Star Contest. Their emphasis as a sponsor has remained supporting professional towing companies by recognizing those who take pride in their equipment and enter their truck in the contest.
April 2008 - Tow Times began accepting electronic entries.
April 2010 - Tow Times enhanced the Contest by posting all entries on
towtimes.com for visitors from around the world to enjoy.
2012 - All entries placed on towtimes.com for public view.
2013 - First People's Choice awarded from popular vote.
