Tompkins County, NY, is Gearing Up for Their Third Annual Giving Day Celebration, Giving is Gorges 2017
Ithaca, NY, April 11, 2017 (Newswire.com) - The Community Foundation of Tompkins County, Association of Fundraising Professionals - Finger Lakes Chapter, Tompkins County Chamber of Commerce, and GiveGab are happy to announce the launch of their third annual Giving Day, Giving is Gorges 2017.
Traditionally taking place from midnight to midnight, this year’s 24-hour give-a-thon starts on May 9th at 6 PM and ends on May 10th at 6 PM. These new hours come by popular demand from those who previously participated in Giving is Gorges and their supporters to make the giving experience even more convenient for everyone.
Within this 24-hour window, the goal of Giving is Gorges is to unite community members around important causes, provide support to local nonprofit organizations, and celebrate the spirit of philanthropy in Tompkins County and surrounding areas.
Last year, Giving is Gorges rallied together 1,076 donors who contributed over $95,000 to 105 participating nonprofit organizations in just a single day, with more donations coming in after the day was over. In total, Giving is Gorges has raised over $220,000 from its two annual events. With an exciting local event planned and a stellar giving experience provided by GiveGab’s giving platform, Giving is Gorges 2017 is looking to be phenomenal!
