The Water Watch Dog

The Water Watch Dog alerts users to the danger of scalding hot tap water.

Each year in the US, more than 100,000 people are treated in hospital emergency rooms due to a scalding injury. Hot tap water accounts for nearly 1 in 4 of all scald burns among children. A new product, the Water Watch Dog, can prevent these injuries. It has a specially designed faucet attachment that tells the water temperature with LED display and an audible alarm sounds if the water temperature exceed the programed safe temperature range. The LED readout and alarm are battery powered and automatically power off when the water is turned off.

Configured to fit almost any standard tap water faucet, the Water Watch Dog does not require installation by a professional plumber. Not only for home use, the Water Watch Dog should prove an invaluable safety device for commercial use, anywhere where water temperature is critical and risk of scalding is high, such as hair salons, pet grooming salons, hospital/nursing homes, home patient bathrooms, and other businesses and institutions. Televised test marketing has been completed indicating exceptional consumer interest in the Water Watch Dog.

The Patent Pending Water Watch Dog was invented by Stanley Bryant of Edison, NJ, who said, “The Water Watch Dog has a mechanism which allows one to set the threshold temperature and adjust the setting as needed. The bathroom shower water can be set at a lower temperature and water for the kitchen floor cleaning can be set at a higher temperature. In addition, the unit can also be set to alert the user when a preferred temperature of the water is reached. So, instead of having to periodically check water temperatures by hand, risking touching water that is either too cold or too hot, the Water Watch Dog easily determines the temperature for the user, alerting them when the set temperature is reached.”
