The Philadelphia Surgery Center Announces Re-Opening
PHILADELPHIA, June 10, 2020 (Newswire.com) - The Philadelphia Surgery Center in Narberth, PA, is re-opening after a four week COVID-19 pandemic closure. The Philadelphia Surgery Center is a highly respected specialty surgery center on the Main Line of Philadelphia.
To re-open, the Center has taken a number of COVID precautionary safety measures. Patients coming for outpatient "NANO" endoscopic spine procedures must have a negative nasal or naso-pharyngeal swab test for COVID-19 in their home city, then again at a designated location in the Philadelphia area. Also, the Center requires that their physician provide additional telemedicine medical clearance.
The Philadelphia Surgery Center uniquely offers "NANO," ultra-small lumbar spine procedures. These are out-patient, done with only local anesthesia and IV sedation. They are not at all damaging to the normal spine, therefore they are not intrinsically harmful, like larger operations. Partial discectomy "NANO" procedures are primarily performed by Dr. Ditsworth, neurosurgeon, who comes regularly from California, where he developed these procedures. He believes strongly in “primum non nocere” ("first do no harm"). Dr. Ditsworth works with and trains some of the local doctors who are at the Philadelphia Surgery Center.
