The John Maxwell Team Ignites Youth Leadership Movement in Fresno, California
Teaching Youth Fundamental Leadership Skills For Use in Everyday Life
FRESNO, Calif., April 27, 2018 (Newswire.com) - Fresno locals, Drs. Theresa Davis and Dr. Aimée V. Sanchez have a strong commitment to leadership, and a desire to teach youth ways to overcome obstacles which may prevent them from excelling in life. The two will be facilitating The 2nd Annual John Maxwell Team, Global Youth Initiative (GYI). Dr. Davis, Executive Director for the John Maxwell Team has her doctorate in education and is a business owner and co-founder of NMESHD (an after-school program). Dr. Aimée V. Sanchez, is a Business Consultant, Psychologist, Speaker and Award-winning Best-selling author.
The GYI is a worldwide event that is designed to teach leadership skills to kids ages 5-18. Half a million children will be served worldwide during the month of April in the United States and in over 52 countries. The event is facilitated by certified John Maxwell Team (JMT) speakers worldwide, and Drs. Davis and Sanchez have brought this event to Fresno. The two recently provided this event on 4/21/18 at Crosspoint Church, where over 100 children and 60 families were in attendance. Mention of the event also appeared on an ABC affiliate.
This Saturday, they will be delivering another Global Youth Initiative event on 4/28/18, from 12-2pm at Carter Memorial AME Church located at 940 Waterman Drive, Fresno, CA 93706.
This event is free for children ages 5-18. Presentation topics include: Stand Up & Be Counted (Stop Bullying), Learning to Fail Forward to Success, Developing a Positive Self-Image and Developing Strong Personal Character.
In addition to offering engaging brief workshops based on John C. Maxwell principles, there will be food, fun, games, and raffles.
Workshops are designed to engage youth in learning to apply practical and relevant leadership values and principles to their everyday lives. There is no cost to attend, and the event will be held at Carter Memorial AME Church, located at 940 Waterman Drive, Fresno, CA 93706.
