"The Back Lubricator": Ends Stretching and Straining to Apply Needed Back Treatment

Individuals suffering from arthritis or limited mobility will benefit from the use of this new tool for skin care in hard to reach areas of the body. The Back Lubricator is an extendable, manually operated device for applying lotions, creams, and similar lubricants to one's own back. Helpful to anyone – especially to those with flexibility and mobility problems – the Back Lubricator has been designed to permit a single individual to easily, comfortably, and evenly apply a variety of lotions -- suntan or sunscreen, topical medications, and moisturizing skin lotions -- to his or her own back. The Back Lubricator might also be used to remove back hair, apply hot or cold therapy, and more.

The Back Lubricator is 8½ to 12½” and consists of a tube-within-tube extension handle, with a molded-rubber ergonomic grip at one end and a lotion head at the other. The pin-locking, tube-within-tube design of the handle – is fabricated in steel or aluminum tubing – permits the handle to extend in four increments. A pivot-pin at the base of the lotion head permits the head to swing out or down and the circular lotion head has a circumference of 9.42”. Within the head is an absorbent spongy material and three sponge-covered metal rollers designed for the application of lotions or lubricants. The lotion or lubricant is expressed into the roller-head via a screw-cap fitting situated at the rear of the lotion head, this screw-cap fitting connects to the internal reservoir containing the lubricant and in a rolling fashion applies it to the skin. The lotion head is about the size of a standard shower-head, and pivots, as noted, on a pin at its base. A molded-plastic storage base suitable for wall-mounting is designed to hold the Lubricator upright when not in use. The Back Lubricator works for a variety of applications in the treatment of various back ailments. Televised test marketing has recently been completed indicating strong consumer interest in the Back Lubricator.

The Back Lubricator is Patent Pending and was invented by Alvin Henry, Jr. of Pomona, CA who said, “Anyone who lives alone will quickly see the benefit of this product. It aids in applying lotions, oils and creams easily to the back where it is virtually impossible to reach unless one is a contortionist. It works for all consumers young and old. No need to stretch or strain to apply a relieving treatment to the back. It works perfectly.”
