The 2018 Chicago Soldiers Golf Outing and Patriotic Party

WANTED: A few good men and women to help honor this year's Chicago Soldier recipient.

Marine Vernon Mitchell

Chicago Soldiers is very pleased to announce the newest member of their team of heroes! This year's great American hero to be honored is Vernon Mitchell.

Vernon served 8 years in the Marine Corp. After 9/11, he re-enlisted in the Army! While on a mission in Iraq, Vernon was seriously injured by an explosion from an IED. He now resides in Glenwood, IL with his wife and daughter. Vernon does not have full use of his hands due to the blast, and normal daily activities are often challenging. Vernon finds peace and pleasure in spending time with his wife and his activities at church. Vernon and his family will be in attendance along with other past Chicago Soldiers recipients. This year promises to be another memorable event!

Proceeds on August 18 will go directly to Vernon!

Chicago Soldiers was started 9 years ago by Orland Park, IL resident Dan Drew. Dan and his wife Janelle have four beautiful children; their family and relationships have enabled Chicago Soldiers Charity to raise over $250,000 to date.

Chicago Soldiers is a public charity 501 (3)(c) organization that raises and donates money to service-disabled veterans in the Chicagoland area.

All items for auction are donated, and 100% of the money raised via entry fees, cash donations and charity auction profits are delivered immediately to the recipient and their family.

This year will mark the 9th annual event; an event that has seen great growth since the event’s inception. Last year Chicago Soldiers was able to donate a total of $30,000.00 to Marine veteran James Poggi. There are no administration costs associated with Chicago Soldiers charity, so all of the money that is raised by the organization is donated to those in need.
