TechBridge and Aidmatrix Host Inaugural Silicon Valley Digital Cocktail
Online, October 28, 2013 (Newswire.com) - TechBridge, a nonprofit that drives community impact by bringing affordable business and technology expertise to other nonprofits recently celebrated the inaugural Silicon Valley Digital Cocktail in partnership with The Aidmatrix Foundation, a nonprofit that builds and operates technology hubs to support groups working together to solve challenging humanitarian crises. The Digital Cocktail, presented by Accenture, brought together the Who's Who of the Silicon Valley technology community including HP, Intel, Neo Group, Microsoft, Avanade, Salesforce.com, and Innography among others. The event was inspired by the long-running Digital Ball series of successful fundraising events held each year in Atlanta, GA and Dallas, TX.
The inaugural Silicon Valley Digital Cocktail was co-chaired by Ramon Baez, SVP & Global CIO of HP and Kim Stevenson, CIO of Intel, who also serve as IT Executive Hosts for the Dallas Digital Ball. The Digital Cocktail provided a powerful evening of networking and inspiration -- showcasing the impact the application of technology can have on the nonprofit sector -- to over 100 guests including technology innovators and thought leaders in Silicon Valley.
Prior to the Digital Cocktail, guests enjoyed an IT Executive Panel discussion on innovation and driving transformation through your organization to your customers. Joining Kim Stevenson and Ramon Baez on the panel were Accenture's John Walsh, Senior Managing Director Communications, Media & Technology, North America, and Ashwin Ballal, VP & CIO, KLA-Tencor. Powerful ideas were shared including Kim Stevenson's comment, "If you're not disrupting your competition, you will be disrupted," and Ramon Baez's advice, "Reverse mentoring is very impactful. If you don't have one, get one!"
In anticipation of bringing a larger fundraising event to Silicon Valley, TechBridge and Aidmatrix are developing a local committee of well-connected executives from the Silicon Valley community as a sounding board. Individuals and organizations who are interested in participating on the committee or sponsoring the next event can get more information at svdigitalcocktail@techbridge.org.
