Tampa Events Group Recruiting New Talent at Area Colleges

Managers from Tampa Events Group have recently been visiting local colleges in an effort to recruit talented graduates to join the firm's sales and marketing team. They also shared important career advice.

“There are several excellent universities in this region of Florida,” noted Toy C., Tampa Events Group’s president. “Our management team has been busy recruiting new team members from this year’s pool of college graduates.”

Toy discussed the reasons behind the firm’s active college recruitment efforts. “College graduates embody the enthusiasm and motivation we love to see in our associates,” he said. “They also bring fresh perspectives that we find valuable. We look forward to meeting grads who enjoy challenges, collaborating with others, and helping brands connect with consumers.”

"Tampa Events Group's philosophy is rather unique,"

Toy, President

“Tampa Events Group’s philosophy is rather unique,” Toy said. “We’re not looking to simply fill positions. We offer hard-working associates rewarding career paths. Every team member has the opportunity to grow and advance with us.”

The firm’s managers are committed to training and coaching team members. “New associates start by learning all of our processes. They work with seasoned team members to gain experience on research, campaign design and execution, and more,” Toy said. “We have a supportive, team-based culture, which means there’s always someone who can help you move forward. For our business to succeed, we have to provide our team with the resources needed to reach their goals.”

Tampa Events Group Managers Dispense Career Advice for College Grads

While the managers continue to recruit on college campuses, Toy noted that there are many important factors that college graduates should be considering while seeking work. “You need a vision for your career path,” he advised. “Too often, graduates leave colleges with no real ideas of what they want to do for a living. That’s OK for the short term. However, it’s important to gain a sense of what opportunities are available in what fields. You want to know where you’re headed.”

Toy suggested internships as an effective way for college upperclassman and graduates to gain understanding of particular occupations. “Internships allow you to glean real-world insights into a job, while hopefully acquiring some hands-on experience,” Toy noted. “Sometimes you’ll find that it’s an occupation you really like and want to build your career in that field. Other times, you may realize it’s wrong for you.”

The other suggestion Toy offered was that graduates carefully consider their work styles and aptitudes before searching for work. “You need to know how you work best and in what types of environments you’re likely to thrive,” he said. “Once you understand this, you can ask intelligent questions to learn about a company’s culture and make sure it’s the right fit for you.”

“There’s more to job seeking than just money,” Toy concluded. “You want to find something that you’re passionate about doing, a career that can sustain you for the next 40 to 50 years. We all work a good chunk of our lives, so it’s important to be in roles that makes us happy.”
