Calgary drug rehab and alcohol treatment

Sunshine Coast Health Centre, a top-rated drug rehab and alcohol treatment program drawing clients from Calgary and Greater Alberta, is proud to announce a new family weekend workshop is coming to Calgary. The new weekend offering allows clients, loved ones and friends into a supportive "fast track" version of the Family & Couples Weekend that is held at the Centre's main location in Powell River, British Columbia.

“Friends and family can be helpful assets to persons struggling from addiction, trauma, and/or PTSD,” explained Casey Jordan, Chief Marketing Officer. “Our family weekend is another mechanism that we offer to help clients on their recovery journey. We're excited to expand this program from its base in Powell River to the Calgary pilot and, perhaps one day, across Canada.”

Persons who are interested can visit the Centre's Calgary-specific informational page at https://www.sunshinecoasthealthcentre.ca/calgary-alcohol-treatment/, as well as the pages specific to drug rehab (https://www.sunshinecoasthealthcentre.ca/drug-rehab/) and alcohol treatment (https://www.sunshinecoasthealthcentre.ca/alcohol-treatment/). FAMILY AND FRIEND SUPPORT IN A NON-12-STEP METHODOLOGY

Sunshine Coast Health Centre is a leader in evidence-based treatment of addiction and trauma. Many people in British Columbia, from Vancouver to Victoria, who know just a little about recovery from drugs and/or alcohol may know of the "12-Step Method," made popular by Alcoholics Anonymous. This methodology isn't for everyone and that other treatment philosophies co-exist in Canada. For example, Sunshine Coast Health Centre is recognized as a highly visible practitioner of "meaning therapy," based on the work of Viktor Frankl. Frankl was the founder of logotherapy, which is a form of existential analysis, and he wrote the best-selling book "Man's Search for Meaning" to chronicle his experiences as a concentration camp inmate. To learn more about the Centre's non-12-step methodology, visit https://www.sunshinecoasthealthcentre.ca/about-us/

Part of this methodology is to enlist the support of friends and families, as opposed to pushing them away. The idea is that the network of social support around a client can actually assist in his or her recovery. The successful "family weekend" held in British Columbia has proven to be a real-world manifestation of this idea and the new program launching in Calgary, Alberta, is an expansion. For these reasons, Sunshine Coast Health Centre is proud to announce a new "family program" for persons suffering from drugs, alcohol, PTSD, and/or addiction in Canada's Alberta province.
