Kaiwan Lewis dominates his second pro day and has a much improved workout over his original workout at Rutgers. At South Carolina his shuttle was 4.24, his vertical jump was 33 inches, and his forty was an improved 4.81. It was Kaiwan's on the field skills that dominated his pro day as he dropped into coverage doing Defensive Back drills and did Defensive Line drills on the bags. You can see his pro day right here. Kaiwan is ranked as one of the top 25 Inside Linebackers in the draft according to NFL Draft Bible.

The 6'1" and 227 pound Lewis was a tackling machine this past season, recording 67 tackles. He was a three year starter in his career between South Carolina and Rutgers, and also earned Academic All-American honors. His career highlights are nothing short of spectacular. He was known as being a true game changer who make the plays at the right times and helped South Carolina to win a bowl game. You can see his game film right here. The Giants and the Jets have expressed great interest in Kaiwan and the Texans have recently inquired more about him.

"Kaiwan has the tools to be a pro, he understands the game and is always around the ball, making plays that will help teams win games, he will also be a highly effective special teams player."

David Schuman, Inspired Athletes, Managing Director

A native of South Jersey, Kaiwan was a 4 star recruit out of high school playing for the great St. Joes of Hammonton program. He was a two way star at running back and linebacker and was one of the top recruits in the country.

Lewis is a very sure tackler, and uses his great closing speed to quickly fill gaps. That great speed also allows Kaiwan to be an excellent blitzerKaiwan seems to always be in attack mode on the field. He is very instinctual and is tenacious in his pursuit of the the ball carrier. Versatility may be one of Lewis's greatest strengths however, as he also shows brilliance in pass coverage. As a middle linebacker, Lewis snagged 2 interceptions this past season. That total ranked him second on his team, as well as tied him for second among all Big-10 linebackers. Agent David Schuman explains, "Kaiwan has the tools to be a pro, he understands the game and is always around the ball, making plays that will help teams win games, he will also be a highly effective special teams player."

Kaiwan has an exceptionally high football IQ and prides himself in his ability as a student of the game. You can clearly see his preparation and hard work in his film as he consistently locates his keys and makes plays. Kaiwan Lewis has leadership skills that rank second to none, and should continue to be on the rise as we get closer to the draft.
