San Francisco-Based Global Health Non-Profit Brings Community Engagement Research to the Forefront
Global health non-profit Child Family Health International presents a curated webinar series that highlights groundbreaking research in the field of international education and study abroad
San Francisco, California, April 27, 2017 (Newswire.com) - Child Family Health International, a UN-recognized provider of community-based Global Health Education Programs for students and institutions with a unique model that fosters reciprocal partnerships and empowerment in local communities, has launched an important new webinar series. Titled, “Research in Action!” this completely free series focuses on groundbreaking new research in the fields of international education, global health and community engagement.
CFHI is collaborating with multiple partners to present this three-episode series aimed to encourage, support and improve global health education efforts through evidence-based information. All episodes can be accessed through CFHI’s website.

For the third installment, CFHI is partnering with the International Association of Research on Service-Learning and Community Engagement (IARSCLE). IARSCLE is an international non-profit organization devoted to promoting research and discussion about service-learning and community engagement. Dr. Jessica Evert remarks: “Looking at community engagement through the research lens is essential and not done often enough. We are excited to highlight the work of IARSCLE and build a community of practice.”
Examples of research in the series include, but are not limited to, measurable impacts of short-term global health programs, host community perspectives on global health trainees, and more.
