Ruth O'Keefe

ThinkGenetic, Inc. (www.ThinkGenetic.com), is excited to announce the promotion of Ruth O’Keefe to Vice President, Marketing and Patient Advocacy. ThinkGenetic, the creators of artificial intelligence-driven patient and physician solutions to help decrease the time to diagnosis for individuals affected by genetic conditions, has recently appeared in the news after closing a $1.5M investment round, sparking a round of interviews about the company and its mission. In her new role Ruth will lead the development and execution of ThinkGenetic’s overarching marketing and advocacy strategy including defining and standardizing best practices for community engagement and managing the team creating educational content for users.

Ms. O’Keefe is focused on growing the ThinkGenetic brand by bringing over a decade of professional marketing, communications, and advocacy experience to efficiently and creatively lead the ThinkGenetic marketing and advocacy outreach teams. Her varied experiences in social media and marketing within a digital marketing team, a premier IBM IT company, and as a private consultant have provided her with a unique perspective on marketing.

When asked about the decision to promote Ms. O’Keefe, ThinkGenetic President and Co-Founder, Len Barker stated, “Ruth has that unique blend of experience, talent, and boundless energy that make people want to follow her.  With the rapid expansion of ThinkGenetic’s marketing and advocacy programs ThinkGenetic needs someone to lead these important aspects of our business. Ruth’s leadership ability and reputation for excellence made her an obvious choice for the position.”

Over the course of her career, Ruth has preferred projects that speak to her heart.  Accordingly, she has purposefully and successfully developed a specialization in the unique needs of supporting and collaborating with groups of all sizes in the rare disease community.

“It is truly an honor to be a ThinkGenetic ambassador and liaise with key stakeholders in the genetic disease community,” Ruth O’Keefe said when asked about her promotion. “Each advocate is driven by a very personal passion for making a difference in the community and that motivates me to do the same. Every day I have an incredible opportunity to learn by working with internal and external partners in the genetic community and find new ways to make a difference. Not many individuals have such a unique opportunity in their career.”

ThinkGenetic will utilize Ms. O’Keefe’s specialization to maintain strong engagement with patients, advocacy partners, healthcare providers, and education partners while successfully and effectively helping them fulfill aspects of their mission and charge that overlap with ThinkGenetic’s mission to reduce the time of diagnosis for those living with genetic conditions.

Ruth O'Keefe completed a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Hartford where she held a double emphasis in Advertising and Public Relations. She was awarded Excellence in the Study of Advertising from the same establishment.
