Robert Vera Joins Development Team at Boulder Crest Retreat for Military and Veteran Wellness

Boulder Crest Retreat for Military and Veteran Wellness is expanding to Tucson, Arizona, with a new development team member

 Boulder Crest Retreat for Military and Veteran Wellness, a free program that offers combat stress recovery programming, is expanding to Tucson, Arizona. They announce the addition of Mr. Robert Vera, who joins their development team.

Robert is world-class communicator who comes to Boulder Crest with over a decade of veteran-related non-profit fundraising experience. In 2004, Robert worked directly with the Tillman family to help establish the Pat Tillman Foundation. He is a business mentor to veteran entrepreneurs through the Patriot Boot Camp and a trusted advisor to a number of nonprofit organizations including; Wounded Wear, Combat Wounded Coalition, The Tiffany Foundation, World Vision, and Camp Patriot, a non-profit that he recently assisted in their capital raising to establish their own veteran retreat ranch. 

Robert is also the best-selling author of "A Warrior’s Faith" (Harper Collins, March 2015). The book earned the publishing industry's 2016 Illumination Silver Medal Award for Best Memoir. Robert’s next book, "Man of War" (Baker Publishing Group, 2018), tells the story of how the “War Virus” of Post Traumatic Stress became a powerful agent of personal growth and transformation for a Navy SEAL Team Six operator.

As a professional speaker, Robert has delivered his trademarked speaking program, The Change Formula, to corporate and non-profit organizations across the United States. Audiences routinely referred to him as “the single most powerful speaker they have had the pleasure of hearing.”

Robert has been engaged in the veterans and military community since 1991, when he was appointed to the staff of United States Senator Edward M. Kennedy to manage military and veteran constituent services. Robert transitioned from government into an investment banking career where he was Vice President of Business Financial Services at Merrill Lynch.

In 2007, Robert became an entrepreneur and established the first-of-its-kind SaaS lifestyle transformation system. In 2012, this system was incorporated into the President’s Challenge, an initiative of the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports, and Nutrition. Robert’s transformation system delivered life-changing results to thousands of individuals and was deployed in corporate wellness programs nationwide.

Originally from Massachusetts, Robert earned a Bachelors of Arts degree in Political Science from Boston College, where he walked on to the football team. He moved to Phoenix, Arizona, in 2000 where he resides with his wife and two children and is a member of Scottsdale Bible Church. Robert is an experienced mountain and canyon guide and each year leads small groups wounded of veterans on expeditions across the Grand Canyon and other locations.
