Revolutionized Document Viewing for OpenText Content Suite
Launched today, GCI PowerTools Viewer provides a streamlined web-based reviewing experience for OpenText Content Suite documents.
CHICAGO, October 12, 2018 (Newswire.com) - Global Cents, a leading provider of information lifecycle management solutions for the OpenText Content Suite and Extended ECM platforms, today announced the next generation of its online document viewer. GCI PowerTools Viewer (PTV) delivers unmatched capabilities, enabling Content Suite users to view, mark-up, redact, and render to PDF documents directly via their browser without the need for additional plug-ins.
“PowerTools Viewer is the first solution to enable organizations to cost-effectively provide universal file viewing and annotation to users throughout their business”, said Tom Lilly, CEO of Global Cents. “PTVs light-weight module installs on Content Suite and its complete lack of client-side software means that it is easy to setup and trivial to deploy to end-users.”
Web-based, or HTML, file viewing has been available to Content Suite clients for a number of years. However, it has traditionally relied on plug-ins or frameworks such as Adobe Flash to render documents within the web browser. Utilizing the power of modern HTML5 technologies, PowerTools Viewer renders over 200 document formats (including MS Office, CAD and image files) directly within standard browsers such as Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. As well as enabling inline viewing of documents and folders of images, PowerTools Viewer’s universal file viewer allows users to create annotations and notes, deliver mandatory reading lists leveraging the “Acknowledged” functionality, redact content, and render to PDF on-the-fly.
