Ram Group Announces Breakthrough in Race for Medical Tricorder Sensor

New Sensor Platform Enables Vital Signs and Air Quality Simultaneously

Ram Group, a German-Israeli- Singaporean based technology firm has just announced a first in biosensing: a full cardio-pulmonary monitoring (EKG, cuffless blood pressure, atrial/ventricular pressures, respiratory rate, vital signs) from a single point of contact on the body. Simultaneously the novel sensor can provide real-time monitoring of air quality index, pollution and other gases from a single sensor. This marks a key milestone in the race to develop the “Tricorder” for health monitoring.

Founder and CEO, Ayal Ram, notes, “Our technology is going to change the face of wearables, diagnostics and remote monitoring products and services in the coming years. Our disruptive sensing chip is easily integrated into smartphones, watches, and other wearables, and can replace 100-150 thousand dollars worth of hospital-based, invasive equipment for a fraction of the cost.” Ram Group’s biosensor can also enable non-invasive, real-time monitoring of blood glucose and electrolytes as well as more sensitive, low-cost diagnostics for early detection of cancer and other non-communicable diseases, supporting precision medicine and value-based care.

In a World Health Organization (WHO) press release in March 2014, the WHO reports that in 2012 around 7 million people died - one in eight of total global deaths – as a result of air pollution exposure. Heart disease, diabetes, and a host of other chronic diseases can be monitored and diagnosed with Ram Group’s biosensing platform. Air quality monitoring, smart cities, oil and gas, supply chains and finance can benefit from the sensing capabilities and biometric authentication technology developed by Ram Group. The company is currently raising funds to bring the technologies to the market by mid-2017 through a number of joint ventures and licensing initiatives.
