Pumpic Launches Online Learning Center for Parents

Pumpic, the developer of mobile monitoring software for parental control and child protection has launched its online Learning Center to teach parents how to keep kids safe on the Internet.

The parent-kid relationship is a widespread issue that each new generation faces. A huge generation gap exists between many parents and kids due to the significant advancement of technology over the last ten years.

Contemporary adults simply never faced the perils that children come across on the web these days. They know about the dangers of riding a bicycle without a helmet or playing with a ball near the road, but most of them don’t realize how it feels to be a child connected online 24/7 with full access to all kinds of information and exposures on the Internet. Cyberbullying, online predator attacks, sexting, explicit content — all these dangers can take place anywhere and are available at the tap of a finger.

As surveyed by Intel recently, 79% of children learn about online safety from their parents.

Alex Stevenson, Pumpic's PR Manager

“As surveyed by Intel recently, 79% of children learn about online safety from their parents. That’s why we do our best to provide moms and dads not only with tips and advice, but with everything we have discovered about child protection on the Internet,” says Alex Stevenson, Pumpic’s PR Manager.

Pumpic Learning Center is a comprehensive aid to security and online protection for kids. It includes four major blocks with each of them covering different areas of online activity. The Ultimate Safety Guide shares common tips for parental control and some extra links to learn more on the subject. The Glossary of Internet Terms lists popular slang words and abbreviations that children use in text communication, so that parents can understand their kids’ messaging and avert threats in the making. The Ready Solutions section describes potential sources of danger and provides a solution for each of them. Meanwhile, the Pumpic Blog contains the latest news and educational articles on topics closely connected with online threats and child protection.

“We’ll continue enriching our Learning Center and keeping it up to date. That’s why we are calling on parents to sign up for our education program and help us make it even more useful. If you have any experience, informative stories, practices, or comments, please share them with us,” adds Alex Stevenson.
