Pre-treatment of Oilseed Before We Extracting Oil
Online, June 1, 2013 (Newswire.com) - Reasons for Oilseed Pre-treating
Oilseed processing is the the general name of all the procedures of removing impurities with the help of various cleaning equipment. Due to their exposure to various external environments, it is inevitable that oilseed will carry impurities.
Generally, the amount of impurities contained in oilseed is 1-6 percent and most of them will absorb some oil fat which will be brought to oil cakes in the process of squeezing, resulting in loss of oil and reduction of oil yield. Organic impurities mixed in oil crops will deep oil color or increase sediments, affecting oil and oil cake quality and influencing the exploration and utilization of oil cake resources.
Besides, impurities mixed in oilseed usually reduce production efficiency and cause the stuffiness in warehouses. So, we should clean these impurities to reduce the loss of oil fat, increase oil yield, improve the quality of oil and oil cakes and ensure normal operation and good hygiene in warehouses.
Ways of Oilseed Pre-treating
Generally, processing of oilseed will follow several steps as below:
The first step is to bake oilseed. Oilseed should be baked and cleaned with moisture content and impurities no more than 12% and 0.5% respectively.
The second step is to clean oilseed. Dusts in oilseed will block oil outflow and short the life of squeezing bolt and bar and affect cake outlet. If we pay full attention to this, better results will be gained.
The third step is to shell oilseed. Removing shells of oilseed before squeezing will contribute to output and oil yield.
The fourth step is to crush oilseed. Though some oilseed can be squeezed directly, oil yield can be raised if oil crops are squeezed after being crushed and flaked.
The last step is cooking. Frequently used method is to stir-fry oilseed after wetting them to ensure the moisture content and temperature as required.
