Portland Pride: Apothecary Shoppe Releases PDX-Themed Essential Oil Blends
Portland, Oregon, December 15, 2016 (Newswire.com) - The Apothecary Shoppe, the college store for American College of Healthcare Sciences (ACHS) and an Oregon Tilth Certified Organic wellness supplies store based in John’s Landing (www.apothecary-shoppe.com), announces the release of a new essential oil line inspired by the unique neighborhoods of Portland, Oregon.
The “Portland 6-Pack” features essential oil blends that capture the individual characters of the Hawthorne, John’s Landing, Pearl, Hollywood, Laurelhurst, and Alberta neighborhoods in Portland. Link: http://www.apothecary-shoppe.com/products/portland-6-pack
"We wanted to give the guests on the Portlandia set a truly unique experience of our city—something memorable. What better way to remember this incredible place than through the sense of smell? Korey and our expert staff did a wonderful job perfecting these aroma blends. They truly smell—in the best way—like each neighborhood! Plus, they make fabulous stocking stuffers for the holiday season."
Dorene Petersen, Apothecary Shoppe President and Founder
Each essential oil blend has been carefully crafted to embody its namesake. Portland’s Alberta Arts District, for example, has a rich jazz history and is one of PDX’s oldest and most culturally diverse neighborhoods. Key notes of juniper, nutmeg, black pepper, and clove essential oils work together in an aromatic improvisation that evokes the spirit of West Coast jazz.
“I loved doing research for these blends,” says Apothecary Shoppe Manager Korey Wilder. “Being new to the area, I began to notice the great distinctiveness of each PDX neighborhood. Exploring the districts and gathering aroma research was a wonderful way for me (and my family) to connect to the rich history and uniqueness of this beautiful city.”
The idea for the Portland 6-Pack was conceived when the Apothecary Shoppe received a request to contribute gift-bag products for the set of the popular TV show, Portlandia.
“We wanted to give the guests on the Portlandia set a truly unique experience of our city—something memorable. What better way to remember this incredible place than through the sense of smell?” says aromatherapy expert Dorene Petersen, ACHS and Apothecary Shoppe president and founder. “Korey and our expert staff did a wonderful job perfecting these aroma blends. They truly smell—in the best way—like each neighborhood! Plus, they make fabulous stocking stuffers for the holiday season.”
