Poetry In Motion Dance Company, the Twin Cities hot, new contemporary dance performance group, will perform several numbers at the Uptown Art Fair, Friday, August 3, 2012 at 4:15 p.m. on the performance stage by Old Chicago on Hennepin Avenue. The event is free and open to the public.

"We are so excited to be performing at the Uptown Art Fair," said Stacy Boeddeker, Poetry In Motion's Executive Director. "We have performed this past year at the Winter Carnival, the Stone Arch Bridge Festival, and we were featured at the Minneapolis St. Paul International Film Festival in our music video with Herschel 'Out Of My System.' Our dancers are thrilled to be performing all over the twin cities in our great festivals and events. The crowds have been fabulous."

Boeddeker continued saying that performing at art festivals in the twin cities was a core part of Poetry's mission which is about re-inventing the way contemporary dance is perceived and performed. She further explained, "Poetry's goal is to do for dance what Cirque du Soleil did for the circus. Reinvent the art form in a stunning and approachable way for audiences."

Friday's performance will include group numbers from their repertory, some new works as well as a solo by Lindsey Briggs and a duet with Ms. Briggs and Anthony Gabriel.

Poery In Motion Dance Company and Training Center is located in northeast/downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota. It is a non-competitive and movement creation facility that merges high quality contemporary and classical styles with bold street dance, offering performance opportunities to dance professionals and students in an exciting environment of creative risk taking.

Poetry In Motion is lead by Stacy Boeddeker, who danced this past weekend with other Poetry dancers and the LXD at the Dizzy Feet Gala at the Dorthy Chandler pavilion in Los Angeles. They are also lead by Ricky Marcelino Palomino, a former top 20 So You Think You Can Dance contestant who is currently working in Los Angeles on a new dance television show with a Poetry student. Their school provides national level training and professional opportunities for their students.
