Phoenix Financial Company Establishes Scholarship For USC

FSW Funding supports entrepreneurship and education for business majors of USC

Founder and Managing Member of FSW Funding, Robyn Barrett announces the launch of the company's 2013 FSW Funding Entrepreneurial Scholarshipfor students attendingthe University of Southern California, Marshall School of Business duringthe 2013/2014 school year. The scholarship will provide $2,000 toward education expenses for the selected student and will be paid directly to the school.

The company established a similar scholarshipat Arizona State University, which is now in its fourth year.

"Wedo a fair amount of business throughout California and have an office in Santa Monica, so it seems natural for us to expandour Entrepreneurial Scholarship program and extend a similar opportunity to the students at the USC Marshall School of Business," said Barrett.

Haze Walker, director of sales and based in Southern Calif. is pleased the company is now extending the Entrepreneurial Scholarship program to students in her own backyard.

"USC's Entrepreneurship Program is internationally recognized and known for being the first of its kind in the United States, so we are beyond thrilled to be able to provide educational support to this group of enterprising students," said Walker.

Applicants are required to submit a 500-word essay explaining the importance of being entrepreneurial, a letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, or employer, a current resume and an unofficial transcript. Students are not required to demonstrate financial need or be enrolled in a specific major to be considered in the scholarship selection. Applicants must be studying any area of business at The USC Marshall School of Business, including The Lloyd Greif Center for Entrepreneurial Studies,and have a minimum GPA of 3.0. The deadline for applications isJune 15, 2013.

"We hope this scholarship will not only help offset some of the student's expenses, but will also shine a spotlight on entrepreneurial ventures created by these young, determined individuals."
