Online, July 1, 2012 (Newswire.com) - This July the acclaimed Oquendo Center of Las Vegas, Nevada will be offering a FREE continuing education course on the subject of Anesthesia Machine and Anesthetic Monitors: Concepts in Understanding that Improve Patient Care.
The course will cover the basic components and functions of an anesthetic machine and breathing circuits, with the goals of better understanding how the various components work, how to troubleshoot common problems with the machine, and how to best utilize this equipment to provide the utmost level in safe patient care. The common types of monitors that are used in practice today will also be discussed. Equipment including ECGs, pulse oximeters, blood pressure monitors, and capnography will all be included in discussion. The class will look at how these monitors work, how they interpret the information they provide, and how to utilize these monitors to improve the quality of patient care. Lastly, the class will discuss common anesthetic related complications and how to prevent or manage these complication when they occur.
This free course is RACE approved for 3 full hours of continuing education. Again, this course is totally and completely free to attendees.
