October has been deemed National Chiropractic Health Month by the American Chiropractic Association (ACA) in an effort to support chiropractic advancement, wellness, and health. Dr. Nash at Pacific Chiropractic in Henderson, NV has been promoting chiropractic treatment as an alternative to risky alternatives such as narcotic medication, spinal injection, or surgery.

As Dr. Nash’s patients learn, their back & neck pain, arthritis, Sciatica, and other conditions are absolutely treatable by narcotic meds, injections, and invasive surgeries. Patients of Pacific Chiropractic will also be informed of the risks of each of these purported solutions. Dr. Nash is vehement that NSAIDs and other heavy medications are addictive for most patients while providing only a short-term fix for a long-term problem. These prescription medications, abused or taken appropriately, can also cause grogginess, nausea, and many other side effects which are unpleasant at best. Dr. Nash’s patients will also learn, through consultation, that injections such as corticosteroids harbor risks such as infection and fever, sleeplessness or dizziness, headaches, and – in extreme cases – irreversible nerve damage. Further, Dr. Nash asserts that all of these side effects come along with being injected with an epidural needle to experience relief for no greater duration than someone who opts for a completely noninvasive chiropractic adjustment. Dr. Nash also educates her patients on the option of surgery, always concluding that it should be kept as a last resort – one which never comes without risk. Anesthesia and incision are accompanied with risks of their own, but the tampering with one’s natural spinal progression and the ultra-high expectations that no patient could reasonably comply with leave surgery as a near impossibility in Dr. Nash’s view.

Instead of these invasive measures, Dr. Kathleen Nash and her team at Pacific Chiropractic recommend exercise and weight management, life balancing techniques, and chiropractic intervention. The ACA is purporting a similar advocacy for conservative treatment of pain and mobility difficulties, such as that of chiropractic intervention, as a part of their National Chiropractic Health Month campaign. Dr. Nash is an avid supporter of conscientious medicine, too, and advises her patients against invasive methods.
