Nicholas House Announces New Board Members
Online, September 12, 2010 (Newswire.com) - ATLANTA, GA - Nicholas House announced today that it has added seven new members to its board of directors, expanding the leadership of the organization which has served the Atlanta community for over 28 years, guiding more than 2,000 homeless families to self-sufficiency.
The newly appointed board members bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to Nicholas House as it seeks to expand its impact for homeless families. Board members elected in August include:

"Family homelessness is a rapidly growing issue in our community that we are working tirelessly to address," said Dennis Bowman, executive director of Nicholas House. "Adding the skills of these new board members will help us further our mission of providing a temporary place to live while identifying and addressing the root causes of homelessness, so families will never be homeless again."
Through its educational programs for parents, children and youth, Nicholas House equips homeless families to be self-reliant with programs that include both a transitional shelter as well as apartments throughout the Metro Atlanta area. Nicholas House's H2H (Homeless to Homes) apartment-based program was recognized by the Federal Department of Housing and Urban Development as a model for other agencies to replicate in using stimulus funds for housing homeless families in apartments.
