New Report: 12 Percent of Global Ad Traffic is Fraudulent
US and UK See Higher Percentages
HALLANDALE, Fla., October 9, 2018 (Newswire.com) - Fraudlogix, an ad verification company, has released a new report that finds 12 percent of global digital ad traffic to be fraudulent, with the United States and the United Kingdom having higher percentages. It also found there to be significant differences in the amount of fraud in ad traffic between desktop and mobile channels.
The ten countries with the highest volume of ad traffic observed were Argentina, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Spain, United Kingdom, and the United States. Of these, the United Kingdom had the highest percentage of fraudulent ad traffic at 22 percent, followed by the United States at 15 percent. When broken down by device type, desktop ad traffic was found to be 18 percent fraudulent and mobile ad traffic 10 percent fraudulent.

The report defines fraudulent ad traffic as ad impressions that were generated by bots, compromised devices, and other nefarious means. It includes the percentages of fraud found in real-time bidding (RTB) advertising traffic during the month of September 2018.
