NEW YORK, N.Y., July 27, 2017 (Newswire.com) - Napoli Shkolnik PLLC is proud to announce that Partner Hunter J. Shkolnik was named Co-Liaison Counsel in the Flint Water Crisis Litigation by United Stated District Judge Judith E. Levy of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.
In this role, Mr. Shkolnik will oversee all currently pending individual personal injury, property damage, and wrongful death cases, as well as the over 18,000 potential cases awaiting to be filed in this mass action arising out of the water contamination in Flint.
The decision comes just over three years after the water crisis in Flint began. The lawsuits allege that Flint residents suffered ruinous damages to their health and property when Defendants recommended, approved, and caused Flint's water supply to become contaminated with corrosive lead and bacteria. Napoli Shkolnik has been involved in this lawsuit from the beginning and has played a leading role in organizing, prosecuting, and coordinating the actions.I welcome the opportunity to work with the Co-Lead and Co-Liaison Counsel and look forward to continuing our efforts in bringing a resolution for the people of Flint. This tragedy continues to affect the entire community daily, and the victims have received no relief.
As Co-Liaison Counsel, Mr. Shkolnik will continue to investigate and develop the claims in this case by overseeing the coordination, preparation, and presentation of the necessary legal documentation. A team of environmental attorneys at Napoli Shkolnik, including Partner Louise R. Caro and Associates Patrick J. Lanciotti, Tate J. Kunkle, Thomas W. Raleigh, and Aaron R. Modiano, will provide valuable assistance to Mr. Shkolnik.
"I welcome the opportunity to work with the Co-Lead and Co-Liaison Counsel, and look forward to continuing our efforts in bringing a resolution for the people of Flint," says Mr. Shkolnik. "This tragedy continues to affect the entire community daily, and the victims have received no relief."
Paul J. Napoli, Of Counsel at Napoli Shkolnik, added, "For far too long the residents of Flint have suffered. Families with young children are now beginning to see the manifestation of the debilitating side effects of lead exposure. Through no fault of their own, they must now deal with learning disabilities and medical treatments for physical and emotional ailments."
