Music Artist D-Edge to Give Away Turkeys for Thanksgiving

D-Edge and his Xsquisit Kool Kidz Foundation has teamed up with Str8 Slammin' Radio and other local businesses to help bring happy holidays to unfortunate families. On November 19th, 2016, the "Trueprint" rapper is set to give away turkeys and other perishable items to 200 families in his home town of Gary, IN. This effort comes at a good time, as the city continues to struggle with gun violence and a constant rising homicide rate. D-Edge expressed the importance of countering all the bad that's going on in the city with events like this turkey give away.

"This is what the city needs," said D-Edge. "People coming together for the good of our city. Anybody that knows me knows I've done something for the city of Gary every year for over 10 years. Gary, Indiana is a lifelong project of mine and I will continue to contribute whatever resources I can provide to help."

D-Edge has been busy giving his helping hand in Northwest Indiana. He recently participated in "Grammy's In My District" and met with Congressman Peter Visclosky to talk about music laws and the rights of musicians, producers, performers and songwriters. D-Edge said, "the meeting was very productive and was looking forward to seeing better financial results for people of music in the future."

D-Edge is currently touring and working on "TP2," the follow up of last year's "The Trueprint," which spawned the singles "The Gawd," "Dive," "Blue Lobster" and "My Wins, My Losses." D-Edge says there is no release date for the album as of yet but should be available early next year.
