Dr. Leon Chaitow, leading expert in muscle pain and Manual Therapy will present a unique 2-day Seminar on May 6 and 7, 2017 in Astoria NY.  Dr. Chaitow has been widely known for his work on a variety of manual therapy techniques including muscle energy technique, positional release, strain and counter-strain and others.

He is a world-renowned practicing naturopath, osteopath, and acupuncturist in the United Kingdom, with over forty years clinical experience. Dr. Chaitow is Editor-in-Chief, of the Journal of Bodywork and Movement Therapies. He regularly lectures in the United States as well as Europe where he instructs physiotherapists (Holland and USA), osteopaths (Spain and UK), chiropractors (Denmark, USA and UK) as well as massage therapists (Ireland, Sweden, USA). He is a senior lecturer by London’s University of Westminster on under and postgraduate courses in therapeutic bodywork and naturopathy.

In 1993, he became the first naturopath/osteopath to be appointed as consultant to a UK government-funded conventional medical practice. A prolific author, Chaitow has written over 70 books on natural health and alternative medicine.

In this Hands-On Seminars course, Dr. Chaitow's objective is to explore the clinical application of effective non-invasive osteopathic soft-tissue methods – mainly but not exclusively, involving positional release and myofascial induction/mobilisation methods. 

With this the course, therapists will improve their skill and ability as manual therapy experts who will learn to apply techniques that have pain-relieving, anti-inflammatory effects; enhance tissue repair; reduce levels of fibrosis/adhesions/scar formation; improve circulation, drainage, posture, balance, mobility and function.
