Mulberry Partners With Square to Launch First-Ever Product Protection Offering for Square Sellers

With Mulberry, Square sellers can now offer customers extended warranties and accident protection with a one-click integration

Mulberry, the consumer-first product protection platform, has announced a new app in the Square app marketplace, available for all retail businesses using the Square point-of-sale and payment processing platform. Square sellers can download the Mulberry app and start offering product protection to their customers with a single click. This is the first-ever product protection offering to be fully integrated into the Square platform.

Mulberry plans cover a wide range of products, from appliances and electronics to furniture and bedding. Coverage can include long-term protection against manufacturer defects as well as assurance that your product will be repaired or replaced in the event of spills, drops, rips, stains, and other accidents. 

Product protection programs have been offered for years by large enterprises like Walmart, Best Buy, and Amazon. While these programs proved to be heavily demanded by shoppers and highly profitable for sellers, they were often inaccessible to smaller businesses due to various legal, operational, and technical hurdles. 

The new Mulberry app removes those hurdles for Square businesses and enables them to offer their customers peace of mind and drive incremental revenue with a quick and easy integration. Non-developers can install the app within minutes, enabling the business to automatically send product protection offers to their customers via email after checkout.

Legacy product protection platforms require a business to map each product to a relevant protection plan, but Mulberry's machine learning technology takes care of this in real-time. The proprietary technology automatically identifies which products can be covered and displays relevant protection plans, saving Square sellers from expensive, high-maintenance product catalog and ERP integrations. 

Square sellers who download the Mulberry app also don't need to take on any additional customer support overhead. Any customer who purchases a Mulberry protection plan will be serviced by Mulberry's top-rated customer support team. Customers can file claims with Mulberry through a digital claims portal and automated claims process.
