Modus Nutrition Completes Requirements for NSF International's Coveted NSF Certified for Sport® Program for Power On, Power Off and Modus

Modus Nutrition, a nutraceutical brand including Power On to improve mental edge, Power Off to enhance sleep quality and Modus, the first plant-based protein to compete with whey and casein, has just been included on NSF International’s list of Certified for Sport products.

This certification confirms that Power On, Power Off and Modus do not contain any of the 265+ substances banned by major athletic organizations and verifies that the contents of Power On, Power Off and Modus actually match what is printed on the label. It also verifies that Modus Nutrition products are manufactured at a facility audited by NSF for quality and safety.

Modus Nutrition was founded to meet the needs of professional athletes. In a market glutted with dietary supplement products that are not reaching the bar for quality, Modus Nutrition is providing a safe alternative for athletes – or anyone who expects the very best – to improve their mental focus, sleep and nutrition.

Power On is a proprietary blend of 15 ingredients working in synergy to promote memory, alertness, energy, productivity and brain health and improve muscle twitch response. It offers peak mental acuity without over-clocking the brain. Power Off is a proprietary blend of nine ingredients to promote relaxation, sleep and brain health. It addresses one of the most destructive health problems plaguing the public – chronic suboptimal sleep. Taken together, the smart supplementation protocol of Power On and Power Off can enhance the ability to get high quality sleep, wake up refreshed, and maintain focus in the face of every day stresses and distractions.

Modus is a professional plant-based protein powder with a proprietary blend of pumpkin seed protein, cranberry seed protein and potato protein isolate with comparable absorption and protein quality to whey and casein. Modus contains proteins that are fast and slow absorbing to optimize muscle growth, repair and retention, and delivers 30 grams of protein and an unusually high seven grams of BCAAs per serving.

“Modus Nutrition is focused on what we believe are the three pillars of health and productivity – focus, sleep and nutrition. It was important to us to provide superior products that are safe and effective. With Power On, Power Off and Modus, we have done just that and, adding the NSF International Certified for SportÒ label to our products rounds out our commitment to athletes and the public,” said Elaine Kunda, CEO, Vitalere Group of Companies (parent company of Modus Nutrition).

For 70 years public health and safety organization NSF International has tested and certified consumer products. Over a decade ago it began testing and certifying supplements at the request of major US sports teams. Today, the organization shares resources designed to help athletes – and every day consumers – find safer supplements and vitamins.

“NSF International welcomes Modus Nutrition and their Power On, Power Off and Modus supplements to the list of over 660 NSF Certified for Sport® products,” said Cheryl Luther, General Manager, Dietary Supplements, NSF International. “NSF Certified for Sport® is the highest level of NSF International certification a product can earn. In additional to certifying for label claims, toxicology and contaminant review these products were tested on a lot-by-lot basis for over 265 athletic banned substances from the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), NSF Annex B, NFL and MLB prohibited substances lists.”

To highlight the prevalence of unsafe supplements and the devastating effects it can have on a professional athlete’s career, NSF International developed this infographic on Playing it Safe in Sports.
