Minute Drivers: Rolling Out a Safer, Smarter Car Service App

Minute Drivers offers the quality and safety of a traditional car service, with the convenience and technology of Uber.

Founded by Edward Mbeche, a veteran in the car service industry, Minute Drivers is a new car service app for mobile phones, designed to eliminate many of the problems that users are finding with other transportation service companies such as Uber, Lyft, and Sidecar, by ensuring safety, live customer service, driver city navigation training, and transparent pricing.

Like other car service apps, Minute Drivers will show the real-time progress of the driver en route, so customers can view and track the exact location of the car they’ve ordered, but they’ve also added the ability to book a car in advance through a live dispatch center, for when you need assurance that your ride will be on time. Three ride options will be available on the Minute Driver app—taxi, black car, and ride share—ensuring that there is safe, efficient transportation for all types of customers, including travelers, business executives, and frequent commuters. All Minute Drivers are trained to know the area they are driving in, so riders won’t be at the mercy of inconsistencies of GPS navigation and map software.

"Though the car service on demand market might be getting crowded, there's always room for another player, if the player has what it takes to distinguish itself from the competition," Mbeche said. "Competition isn't dangerous; complacency is."

Minute Drivers has pledged to provide a trustworthy service, and have taken steps to prove it by offering transparent prices that never change with demand, unlike Uber and Lyft’s infamous, dreaded ‘Prime Time’ and ‘Surge Pricing.’ Live dispatch and customer service is available for Minute Drivers users 24 hours a day, every day, so there will always be a live person for customers to talk to in case of immediate concerns. All Minute Drivers are subject to criminal background checks, for safety, and each car is insured with up to $5 Million dollars in coverage.

Mbeche is convinced that, with his leadership, Minute Drivers will swiftly build a dedicated client base on the strength of the service's irresistible value: a quality drive at a reasonable price, delivered at the tap of a smartphone.

How Minute Drivers Got Started

Edward Mbeche, the founder and CEO of Minute Drivers, knows the transportation and the mobile phone technology industry, and knows the benefit for consumers when these two worlds meet. After leaving college with a degree in computer management, Mbeche worked for Blackberry for two years before relocation from New Jersey to Washington, D.C. There, he began a career in car service, working as a taxi dispatcher, until he seized an opportunity to create his own business in the two fields he knew the best. Thirteen years later, the car service company Mbeche founded, Global Sedan Service, is still going strong. “My success is founded on the principles of quality service, and continual innovation,” Mbeche said. “Minute Drivers is the logical extension of this; excellence on demand.”

Help Make Minute Drivers a Reality

From design, to software development, to launch, we estimate $25,000 in start-up costs,” Mbeche said. Mbeche has allocated a portion of the potential investment funds for the marketing of Minute Drivers, and is planning to launch the car service across the United States, the rest will be used to design and develop the highest quality technology possible.
