Millennial Mom Jenna Barnett’s Snack Hacks for Picky Toddlers & Kids:

Eckrich Deli

"Sandwiches are my go-to lunchbox item for my daughter, but deli meat also makes a great snack idea. Eckrich deli meat is full of flavor and you can get it at your local grocery store deli counter. I like to make mini snack sandwiches in fun shapes like hearts or stars. You can use any cookie cutters you have laying around or Amazon sells some sandwich shape cutters, too. Another easy idea is to make yummy roll-ups. I take Eckrich deli meat and a slice of cheese, roll it up and serve it with some mayo for dipping. Eckrich deli meats means you can put a delicious, homemade snack on the table quickly, so you can spend less time in the kitchen and more time with family," says Barnett.

thinkKIDS Protein Bars

"My daughter loves granola bars, but so many of them are full of sugar and empty carbs. I could never find options that are low in sugar and high in protein until I discovered thinkKIDS. They offer the lowest sugar, yet highest protein bars for kids on the market. The bars have 7 grams of protein, 3 grams of fiber and only 4 grams of sugar per serving. That’s 45 percent less sugar than the leading granola bar. thinkKIDS is also gluten-free, GMO-free and contain zero artificial flavors or colors. Find them at Target and Kroger," says Barnett.

Healthy Times Toddler Formula & Organic Hugga Bear Cookies

"Healthy Times is a great snack brand, especially for toddlers. They have a healthy toddler formula called Growing Up that is formulated for the nutritional needs of kids one year and up. It has 47 percent less sugar and 38 percent more DHA than the leading toddler formula. It also contains prebiotics to support a healthy digestive system. I also love their Organic Hugga Bear Cookies as a healthy treat for kids. They provide a good source of calcium, iron, zinc and B vitamins for healthy growth and development. Both of these Healthy Times products are non-GMO, certified organic and contain nothing artificial," says Barnett.

Ezpz all-in-one placemat & plate

"Next up, I have the adorable Ezpz all-in-one placemat and plate. These plates are amazing for so many reasons. The fun design puts kids in the right mood for a positive snacktime experience. The different compartments ensure none of the foods touch, which is huge for those picky eaters out there. Best of all, it limits the mess for parents to clean up. The placemat suctions to the table so you never have to worry about spills. They are made from 100 percent food-grade silicone and are dishwasher-, microwave- and even oven-safe," says Barnett.

Sprout Foods’ Snack

"These are some easy, grab-and-go snack ideas from Sprout Foods. Instead of fruit snacks, give the kids some Crispy Chews. They are made with a full serving of real fruits and veggies and have a soft, crispy chewy texture that kids love. My daughter also loves the White Cheddar Curlz. This is a great option for a crunchy snack instead of chips. They are the first plant-powered snack for toddlers that are made from organic chickpeas and lentils. The Power Pak Pouches are another healthy snack idea. They are made with organic fruits and veggies and provide omega 3, protein and fiber. Sometimes I even use them a base for my daughter’s smoothie in the morning if I’m rushing out the door," says Barnett.
