Not only will these startups get to pitch on the big stage for an opportunity to win over $100,000 worth of prizes, but they will also participate in a “speed dating” session with investors and executives from top travel companies at #FOTTECH2019. These meetings provide the startups with a unique opportunity to accelerate potential commercial pilots and have led to funding rounds from LAB Ventures’ VC partners.
"We are thrilled with the quality of startups from literally all over the world that applied to participate in the second annual Future of Travel Tech Summit," said LAB Ventures CEO, Tigre Wenrich. “We knew folks would jump at the opportunity to meet with executives from companies like Expedia and JetBlue, but we did not expect the event to have such a global reach. We have some very innovative startups coming from as far away as Poland, Israel, and Western Europe.”
Featured speakers at the summit include Bob Diener - Founder of Hotels.com and Getaroom.com; Ilan Twig - Founder of TripActions, which achieved unicorn status with their recent series C led by Andreessen Horowitz; Utpal Kaul - Global Head of New Product Incubation at Carlson Wagonlit Travel; and representatives from Embraer, Rocketrip, Lonely Planet, Amadeus Ventures, Royal Caribbean, Viva Air, Highgate Ventures, and many others.
