Medicaid Innovation Collaborative Hosts Inaugural Showcases and Launches Advisory Board

Medicaid Innovation Collaborative shares private-sector solutions with program partners and convenes national team of advisors

In May, Medicaid Innovation Collaborative (MIC) hosted a showcase of innovations focused on adolescent behavioral health and maternal behavioral health. Selected organizations presented their solution to combined audiences of nearly 200 state and managed care leaders, community advisors, and subject matter experts for the opportunity to engage health plans for future contracting opportunities.

The showcases took place after a national Request for Information (RFI) to source innovative solutions in behavioral health for its first cohort of states and their associated managed care plans. Through research, MIC identified key behavioral health challenges facing adolescents in Arizona and West Virginia and perinatal women in Hawaii, and the RFI aimed to source solutions to address these challenges.

The 10 organizations who presented were selected from a pool of over 80 applications. Applications were reviewed by a committee of project partners, including state, managed care, provider, and community representatives, along with outside experts, who made the final selection. Selection criteria was based on a combination of the applicant's ability to address the challenges and opportunities outlined in the areas of focus, to demonstrate solution effectiveness, and to reduce disparities and alleviate systemic gaps or barriers to behavioral health care.

In the Adolescent Behavioral Health Showcase, the audience learned more about solutions from BeMe Health, Brave Health, Concert Health, Daybreak Health, and Hazel Health.

In the Maternal Behavioral Health Showcase, the audience learned more about solutions from Brave Health, EPIC 'Ohana, Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies Coalition of Hawaii, Marigold Health, Nest for Families, and Workit Health.

MIC also celebrated the launch of its organizational Advisory Board, composed of leading experts in Medicaid, care delivery, health tech, and impact investment:

This group of advisors, with decades of leadership and expertise, will provide critical guidance and support to shape MIC's vision, strategy, and operations.
