McBee to Present Part Two of the Webinar Series Preparing for OASIS-D
WAYNE, Pa., October 31, 2018 (Newswire.com) - McBee, the nation’s premier independent health care services and consulting firm, will present the second webinar in a three-part series entitled, “Understanding New Section GG in the Preparation for OASIS-D.” Quality Manager, Karen Tibbs, RN, MS, HCS-D, COS-C, will lead the presentation live on November 13.
With the implementation of OASIS-D set for January 1, 2019, post-acute providers need to begin developing and executing strategies to be ready for the proposed changes that will be taking place. This webinar will discuss section GG Functional Abilities and Goals and will cover the new OASIS-D items GG0100 Prior Functioning, GG0110 Prior Device Use, and GG0130 Self Care.
Attendees will learn the activities and equipment that will be captured, receive scoring guidance, and compare new functional abilities and goals to the current M1900 item. This webinar will include an in-depth look at the activities measured in the GG0130 Self Care item and how new items relate to the ADL/IADL assessment. It will review the six-point performance scale when to select the “not attempted” codes, and guidance for establishing patient goals.
By the conclusion of this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Understand guidance, conventions, and response-specific instructions for new Section GG: Functional Abilities & Goals
- Compare GG: Functional Abilities with current M1800 ADL/IADL items
- Identify strategies for accurate assessment of new OASIS-D items
Karen Tibbs, RN, MS, HCS-D, COS-C, Quality Manager, OASIS & Coding Services, is a registered nurse with a Master of Science in Health Care Quality. She is currently the Quality and Education Manager for McBee. She has 22 years of home care experience with extensive knowledge in medical review, regulatory compliance, ICD-10 and OASIS accuracy.
