May 2010 Poet Local Series Hosted by Writer Grey Brown
Online, May 10, 2010 (Newswire.com) - As this year's third Poet Local, Rocky Mount native Grey Brown will discuss her poetry career, publishing experience and read from her latest book, When They Tell Me.
Brown is the author of two chapbooks and also penned the forthcoming complete collection, What it Takes, which will be published in the fall of 2010 by Turning Point Press. She offers writing workshops to patients and staff of Duke Medical Center and gives presentations locally and nationally on the role of the literary arts programming in health care settings. Brown is co-founder of the literary arts program for Health Arts Network of Duke.

The Poet Local Series featuring Grey Brown is one in a chain of events honoring published poets in a casual setting. Complimentary refreshments are provided and the event is open to the public. The free event takes place at 3PM on Sunday, May, 16th at the Media Room of Ashley Park in Brier Creek, 10300 Pine Lakes Court in Raleigh. June's Poet Local Series event will feature Bruce Lader.
