Local 13-year-old Partners with Habitat for Humanity of Orange County to Help Families Get Home for the Holidays

Chase Bailey of Chase 'N Yur Face joins #GivingTuesday campaign to help raise funds for Orange County families in need

For the second year in a row, Habitat for Humanity of Orange County (Habitat OC) is partnering with the national #GivingTuesday movement on December 2, 2014. This year, Chase Bailey (of www.chasenyurface.com) will be joining Habitat OC in its campaign to raise funds to help local, hardworking families attain the American dream of homeownership.

Chase is a 13-year-old boy from Irvine who was diagnosed with autism as a toddler. His mother, Mary, is homeschooling him using a personalized Life Curriculum with a hands-on approach to learning through experiences that resonate with Chase helping him reach his highest potential. Through the Chase ‘N Yur Face curriculum, Mary encourages him to support others by doing something good and helping nonprofits. The curriculum goals are designed to go beyond academic life, extending into the realms of self-sufficiency, personal fulfillment, developing positive relationships with other people and philanthropy.

This #GivingTuesday, December 2nd, as part of Chase’s “Do Something Good” program, Chase has chosen to give back in three ways to Habitat for Humanity of Orange County and encourages others to give back as well.  Here is how Chase will be giving back:

1. On December 2nd, Chase will serve lunch to the volunteers helping us finish building five homes in Cypress so local families can spend the holidays in their Habitat OC homes. This is part of Habitat OC’s “Lunch Bunch” program, which encourages youth to volunteer.

2. Chase will provide “Welcome Home” holiday wreaths to Habitat OC families moving into their homes in Cypress who will be “Home for the Holidays”. Chase will help volunteers put up the wreaths on the doors.

3. Starting November 13, Chase will encourage the community to donate to Habitat for Humanity of Orange County for #GivingTuesday by asking everyone to visit www.HabitatOC.org/GivingTuesday and donate throughout the month of November and ending on #GivingTuesday, December 2nd, 2014. His goal is to raise $3,000 to help build more affordable homes for hardworking families in need.

#GivingTuesday is a global day dedicated to giving back. On Tuesday, December 2nd, charities, families, individuals, businesses, community centers, corporations and students around the world will come together for one common purpose: to embrace generosity and to give. On this day, the community is encouraged to come together to give something more.
