That page explains fitness therapy, yoga and meditation, and diet as three key components to improved outcomes. It explains as well that there are three phases to diet at the Centre, namely: 1) an initial diet consultation analyzing a client's diet and creating a customized diet plan, 2) mid-treatment diet consultation evaluating changes to date and issuing recommendations, and 3) a final diet consultation focusing on specific foods and recommendations for sleep and exercise upon release.

A NON-12 STEP DRUG REHAB AND ALCOHOL TREATMENT PROGRAM

SHCH uses a methodology to understand addiction based on the pioneering work of Viktor Frankl, who wrote "Man's Search for Meaning" out of his experience in the Holocaust of World War II. The methodology has become an alternative to the popular faith-based methodology common to Alcoholics Anonymous / Narcotics Anonymous and gives persons a valuable alternative in their struggle to overcome addiction. Clients come to SCHC from all over Canada, not only the western cities and provinces such as Vancouver, Victoria, or other cities in British Columbia but also adjacent provinces such as Alberta (cities such as Calgary and Edmonton) and as far away as Toronto, Ontario. Indeed, the Centre publishes a helpful guide to treatment options in cities such as Calgary (https://www.sunshinecoasthealthcentre.ca/drug_rehab_location/calgary-rehab) and a detailed, independent website on drug rehab and alcohol treatment at http://www.canadadrugrehab.ca.

Nutrition and fitness are key components of the treatment methodology, and the new responsibilities of Ms. White are indicative of a growing focus on synergies between body and mind as an effective treatment methodology for drug and alcohol use disorders as well as other addictions.
