Landsea Homes Joins HomeAid America in Effort to End Homelessness

Investment to Sustain Homeless Housing Development and Community Outreach Program

HomeAid America, one of the nation’s largest nonprofit providers of housing and resources for Americans experiencing homelessness, announced today a partnership with Landsea Homes. Landsea Homes, one of the nation’s leading homebuilders and developers and a subsidiary of Landsea Green Group, will join HomeAid America as a Silver Level National Partner, supporting HomeAid in the fight against homelessness across the country.

“HomeAid America is doing important work across the nation,” said Mike Forsum, chief operating officer, Landsea Homes. “Homeownership and housing matters at all income levels and we are proud to support HomeAid America’s innovative strategies and initiatives to help families rebuild their lives and end homelessness.”

HomeAid will use the funding to rebuild lives for America’s homeless through their housing development and community outreach programs, as well as chapter expansion efforts. Mike Forsum will also join HomeAid America’s board of directors.

HomeAid’s program identifies charities working to help the homeless that are in need of additional facilities in which to house people. HomeAid’s builder captains and their partners and suppliers take on these projects, completing them at a deep discount through the in-kind donation of their time and materials. These cost-savings are reinvested into life-changing programs, such as job and life skills training, financial counseling and physical and emotional support needed to get back on their feet.

Support from Landsea Homes comes at a pivotal time as HomeAid enters into its 30th anniversary and celebrates the success of completing over 560 projects that have housed more than 335,000 people who would have otherwise been homeless. Through the HomeAid model, more than $230 million of housing has been developed with a cost savings of over $120 million, thanks to the generosity of the building industry.

“We are very excited to welcome Landsea to the HomeAid America team,” said Peter Simons, CEO of HomeAid America. “As a huge international builder and developer, they will bring us great new perspective and with Mike Forsum — their chief operating officer in the U.S. — joining the HomeAid board, we will get a proven U.S. homebuilding leader. Landsea and Mike will greatly benefit HomeAid as we pursue our fight against homelessness in this country.”
