Kirin Japanese Cuisine Hosts First Hot August Night After-Party in Downtown Hammond

Kirin Japanese Cuisine recently participated in the 23rd annual Hot August Night Event in Downtown Hammond, Louisiana. To further involve their business and staff in the local community, the popular sushi spot hosted its first-ever Hot August Night “After-Party” from 10:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 24.

Traditionally, Hot August Night is an annual Summer event presented by the Hammond Downtown Development District where community residents can browse over 50 local booths and businesses to shop, eat and play in the heart of Downtown Hammond. The event usually only lasts until approximately 10:00 p.m., so Kirin Owner Peter Chan decided to extend an open invitation that would allow residents to continue the beloved celebration.

Prior to the event itself, Kirin launched an event page on Facebook to generate buzz for the After-Party. Nearly 400 users expressed interest and invited their friends to experience the festivities, including a live DJ performance and $5.00 double “well” Stoli cocktails. Kirin is known for serving up not only exceptional sushi rolls, but also for crafting delicious martinis and other specialty cocktails; this proved to be a huge draw for the excited party-goers.

The success of the event surpassed expectations, according to Kirin Founder Peter Chan. Management and staff members were proud to see so many of their fellow Hammond residents enjoying the party, and they now hope to host similar events for many years to come.

Kirin Sushi is located at 223 South Cate Street in Hammond. For more information or the full menu, visit kirinjapanesecuisine.com or call 985.542.8888 to order takeout.
