As a part of Julian’s annual Apple Days harvest celebration, the Julian Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a two-day Apple Days Festival September 24 and 25 at Menghini Winery, 1150 Julian Orchards Drive, located at the end of Farmer Road, about 2 miles out of downtown Julian.  The event runs from 10am to 5pm both Saturday and Sunday. Admission is $5 for adults and children 12 and under are free of charge and there is plenty of free parking at the winery.

Julian Apple Days Festival offers a lot to see and do. There will be apple displays, music and dancing, an antique tractor display, children’s games and activities, gold panning demonstrations, a beer and wine garden, food and merchandise vendors, the coronation of Mr. and Mrs. Apple Days, and the much-anticipated announcement of the winner of the Julian Woman’s Club Apple Pie Baking contest.  “Of course, there will also be a pie eating contest”, says Tracy Turner of the Julian Chamber of Commerce, “and whether you are an amateur or professional pie-eater, you won’t find a better pie to eat anywhere!”
