VOLCAN VALLEY APPLE FARM

Bring the kids, bring the dog and let’s pick apples!

The Volcan Valley Apple Farm, Julian's largest and best U-Pick apple orchard, announces the opening of the 2017 U-Pick harvest season on Friday, August 25.

"The trees are yielding perfectly succulent, juicy, sweet, crisp apples this season".

Emily Dreiling, Orchard Manager

Located at 1284 Julian Orchards Drive, just north of the historic gold mining town of Julian, Volcan Valley Apple Farm covers the local countryside with 7,300 apple trees bursting with seven apple varieties: Gravenstein, Gala, Jonathans, Empire, Fuji, Pippin and Golden Delicious.

This year the apples are bigger, tastier and more plentiful than ever due to the return of heavy winter rain, lots of summer sunshine and plenty of TLC by the VVAF crew, led by Orchard Manager, Emily Dreiling.

“The trees are yielding perfectly succulent, juicy, sweet, crisp apples this season. We have worked hard to improve the orchard this year with new passageways between the long rows for easier access, new and improved parking for our customers, and a new picnic area where individual servings of Granny's Kitchen apple pie will be on sale to enjoy during your visit at the farm,” said Emily.  “As always we are dog-friendly so bring the family for a day of back country fun," she added.

During the harvest (7-8 weeks), the Volcan Valley Apple Farm will be open to the public Friday through Monday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Last year over 30,000 people visited the farm with families and friends throughout the apple-picking season.  Admission is just $1 (kids 5 and under free).  U-Pick bags are $12 and that includes one admission.
