Jeffrey A. Rich, DO, a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and Medical Director of the Miami Joint Restoration Center, has been named the Medical Honorary Chair for the 2013 Arthritis Walk Miami-Dade. The Walk is scheduled for November 16 at Amelia Earhart Park in Miami, Fla. and generates funds to find a cure for arthritis which strikes one in three Floridians, one in four women, and one in 250 children.

"I am delighted to partner with the Arthritis Foundation because I fully support and believe in their mission to find a cure for arthritis with efforts towards prevention and improving the quality of life for arthritis patients," said Rich, who sees the debilitating effects arthritis has on people of all ages every day.

Dr. Rich has had fellowship training in total joint replacement and is the first in the area to perform computer-assisted knee and hip replacements and partial joint replacements. His practice has become known as a center of excellence for total hip and knee joint replacements, partial knee replacements, minimally invasive surgical techniques, sports medicine and age-related conditions such as arthritis and osteoporosis.

Dr. Rich also focuses on nonsurgical care for musculoskeletal diseases and orthopedic injuries, and empowering patients to make their own decisions regarding their treatment. He enjoys spending time with patients and finds it very rewarding to use current technology and treatment techniques to help people of all ages lead more comfortable and fulfilling lives.

Dr. Rich obtained his Medical Degree at Nova Southeastern University of Health Sciences. He is a member of American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics, American Osteopathic Association, American Medical Association, Florida Osteopathic Medical Association, and Dade County Medical Association.
