She was born and raised in Miami and graduated from the University of Miami.
The Kick-Off will include motivational presentations by Dr. Michael M. Koonin, orthopedic surgeon and Walk Medical Honorary Chair, and nine-year-old Emma Alonso, Walk Child Honoree, who has lived with juvenile dermatomyositis for more than half her short life, as well as the premiere of the 2011 Let's Move Together Arthritis Walk video.
