Ison, Stanford, and Wagner Elected to National Board of Directors
AUSTIN, Texas, November 8, 2018 (Newswire.com) - Susan Ison of Taylorsville, Utah, Blake Stanford of Austin, Texas, and Kati Wagner of Centennial, Colorado have been elected by the National CACFP Sponsors Association membership to serve a three-year term on the Board of Directors. All bring a great depth of experience with the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and are involved in the management of a sponsoring organization for family child care homes and/or child care centers which participate in the USDA child nutrition program. Since 1986 the National CACFP Sponsor Association (NCA) has been the leading national organization for sponsors who administer the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).
Susan Ison serves as the Executive Director of Helping Hands Inc. in Taylorsville, Utah and has also served as the regional representative for the USDA Mountain Plains region. Working with CACFP for 25 years, she has seen the association grow from a group of small regional directors to the national coalition it is today. “I truly feel that this program is very important to the well-being of the most vulnerable part of our population - our children. The NCA has been, and continues to serve as, a valuable ally and resource in our ongoing battle against childhood hunger and obesity.”
Blake Stanford is the Founder and President/Chairman of the Board of Southwest Human Development Services, a private, non-profit agency and sponsor of the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program since 1985. He has served as President of the Texas CACFP Sponsors' Association and was a founder of the Southwest Region CACFP Sponsors' Association. As a past President of the association, he currently serves as the Partnerships Chair working with organizations to further NCA's programming for the community and capitalize on resources available for CACFP operators.
Since 2009, Kati Wagner has been the President of Wildwood CACFP in Centennial, Colorado, a sponsor of family child care home providers, centers, and afterschool programs who participate in the USDA food program. Kati’s business background allows her to see unique opportunities for providers. Kati has served on the NCA Board of Directors since 2012, previously as Secretary and Treasurer, and is currently serving on the Executive Board as Vice President.
The experience, talent, passion, and commitment these board members share for the CACFP is inspiring. They are excited to serve in leadership roles for the entire membership and participate in the development of programs, activities, and policy positions.
