$20,000 Available for Scholarships to National Child Nutrition Conference

For 34 years, the National Child Nutrition Conference (NCNC) for CACFP, Afterschool, and Summer Meals child nutrition programs has offered unparalleled training, education, and networking opportunities for the child nutrition community. This year the conference will be held in Atlanta, GA, April 14-16, 2020. The National CACFP Sponsors Association (NCA) offers fifteen scholarship opportunities to attend NCNC. These scholarship opportunities allow CACFP professionals the chance to attend where they otherwise might not be able.

Kristall Davis, owner of Little Blessings Childcare in Champlin, MN, was awarded the Home Child Care Provider Scholarship for the 2019 conference held in Chicago, IL. She says, “Reading the word ‘congratulations’ was a shock and a blessing! It afforded me the opportunity to attend the conference without the added expenses impacting my budget. Attending the conference and being in the company of so many that shared the same passion, gifts, and vision was encouraging and motivating. I came home with a renewed sense of purpose empowered with resources, tools, and information and inspired by the spirit of commitment to the health and well-being of the children we are entrusted with.”

Conference attendees leave the event with a true sense of support from colleagues after networking and learning from over two full days of outstanding workshops and discussion sessions. Fifteen scholarship opportunities are available from the National CACFP Sponsors Association. Each scholarship will include conference registration, three (3) nights lodging at the conference hotel, and up to $300.00 toward transportation costs. If you work for any of the following organizations operating the CACFP or SFSP, you are eligible to apply for scholarships: CACFP Sponsors, Tribal Nations, Head Start, Food Banks, At-Risk/Afterschool, Summer Food Program, Child Care Centers and Home Providers, and School Districts.

The deadline to apply is January 16, 2020 and scholarship recipients will be notified by February 7, 2020. Please visit our website at www.cacfp.org/scholarship for more information or apply here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/PRNCA20.
