Irish-Australian Kiernan McMullan Releases New Album Common Sense
Nashville, Tenn., July 13, 2014 (Newswire.com) - The length of most artists’ entire careers is what it took for singer-songwriter Kiernan McMullan in writing and recording alone before the release of his anticipated album Common Sense. The new record was recorded in Ireland, LA, and finally Nashville, where it was finished and released today, July 13th.
Recorded in Nashville's Sound Emporium, the record encompasses 10 tracks and tells a story from start to finish. Having lived on several continents, the Irish-Australian brings an outsider's perspective to his international fan base by writing songs about atypical subjects. Common Sense is the first record that almost breaks the mold of the singer-songwriter genre, and pushes more towards pop/soul. Covering topics such as society’s direction, relationships, forgiveness, and beliefs, McMullan’s new record has something important to say. Constant traveling, performing and perfecting his sound have helped him develop a grassroots following of dedicated fans worldwide.
Influenced by everything from Motown to Jimmy Eat World, Kiernan created his own intersection between the genres, a good decision which became apparent by the last few years of touring. To date, McMullan has performed at sold-out shows, festivals and tour dates in the US with well-established talent including the likes of Sheryl Crow, Ed Sheeran, Dave Mason and Mat Kearney. In 2008, with nothing but a hiking bag and his guitar, he hitched and bussed the length of the East Coast and parts of the Midwest, playing shows every other day. "My parents met on a plane, so being a gypsy was always in my genes.." he says.
The new record is available on iTunes and also streaming on Spotify. Click here to buy the album.
