Hong Kong, HKSAR, June 9, 2017 (Newswire.com) - Hong Kong “MarTech” startup WeMine has received funding of approximately HK$1 million from a Singaporean angel investor to reinforce the core features of its proprietary WeChat management platform, which offers cloud-based customer service, event management, mobile payment and e-commerce solutions.
“Our specialty is developing WeChat apps that offer utilities in a messenger environment, which can, in turn, generate a tremendous amount of analyzable data for enterprises. For this round of funding, we will look to expand our development team to optimize our platform — in particular, its AI elements for higher data processing power,” Co-founder and Director of Strategy Horris Tse pointed out.

WeMine’s event management tool “WeAct” has received a vote of confidence from the upcoming AIESEC Alumni Asia Pacific Conference: attendees will be able to participate in live polling and Q&A session by typing into the messenger, while also enjoying speedy group check-in and after-party drink redemption with WeChat’s QRcode scanning function.
A global business aviation company has also subscribed to WeMine’s customer service platform, allowing their customers to book private jets via WeChat. Other prominent clients of WeMine’s management platform include Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, Robert Walters, Christie’s, Lee Kam Kee Group’s subsidiary Infinitus and HKUST Alumni.

The said angel investor was also won over by the unique advantages of WeChat apps :
- Installation is not required; therefore, end-users can save a great deal of storage space and time.
- The “follow first, use later” feature serves as an effective strategy to gain followers for enterprises on their Official Accounts.
- Enterprises can integrate their app distribution tactic with content marketing strategy to optimize target user acquisition. Currently, WeChat has over 889 million monthly active users, making it a great hunting ground for target users.
Forging the way forward, WeMine hopes to expand into the blooming Southeast Asian market beyond its existing business. The angel investor will support WeMine in achieving this goal by contributing his connections and business experience.
