Hercules Trophy International and CoreCentive Partner to Bring Team Building Competition to US

Inaugural North American Event to Take Place July 12, 2012 in New York City

The Hercules Trophy, a corporate team-building event quite popular around the world, is coming to America.

CoreCentive, a U.S. leader in the Human Capital Management industry, and Hercules Trophy are teaming up to bring the Hercules Trophy to the North American market. The first edition of the Hercules Trophy will take place on New York City's Randall's Island July 12, 2012, and is expected to attract more than 250 corporate teams and thousands of competitors looking for a balance between work, sports, health and family.

Hercules Trophy is the fastest-growing corporate networking team building competition in the world. The format has already revolutionized the event and team building market in Europe, Middle East and Asia, and is now ready to expand into the North American market. By the combination of competitive experiences, sports and entertainment on one day, Hercules Trophy builds a long-term team effect. The format actively promotes physical and mental fitness for business people. The competition is open to everyone at the office.

The Hercules Trophy aims to combat this by building camaraderie, embracing networking and promoting company loyalty with an inter-company sporting team day.

Both Hercules and CoreCentive are confident this type of competition is entering the North American market at a right moment, because it clearly delivers an answer to specific USA-issues in the workforces. In short, the economic instability in the U.S. over the past few years has left the American workforce with a general lack of trust - and this impacts team (internal) cohesion.

Koen Blanquart, CEO Hercules Trophy North America: "We have chosen CoreCentive because of their passionate belief in Human Capital and Employee Engagement. Their values and insights in the way teams behave in the corporate workplace are key."

Steve Walter, CEO CoreCentive: "We are excited to bring the Hercules Trophy to North America. Offering world class team building events ties into our strategy of providing the marketplace and our customers with a comprehensive Human Capital Management approach. Team building events increase morale, drive engagement and an employee's happiness factor."

"The expansion of the Hercules Trophy format to North America is an important milestone for our company, after our growth in other regions in the world," says Yves Vekemans, President and Co-Founder Hercules Trophy International. "We deliver a service that is becoming vital in corporate life. The very specific combination of team building, networking, charity and competition appeals to the sentiment and value systems of our customers in the USA. We consider it to be a serious competitive advantage."

About Hercules Trophy
Founded in 1999 in Belgium, the Hercules Trophy is a super-charged inter-company sporting team day that builds camaraderie, embraces networking and promotes company loyalty. It has developed into the biggest and most anticipated international team building and networking event in Europe, attracting more than 20,000 people from 600 companies to date. In addition to Belgium, Hercules Trophy events are also run in Spain, The Netherlands, UAE (Dubai), South Africa and Singapore. The United States and Germany are scheduled for launch in 2012.

Hercules Trophy was created by international entrepreneur Yves Vekemans and a group of corporate businessmen who cared about their people. They looked for a formula that would establish long lasting emotional connections between their employees. Recognizing that sport was a good means for getting people connected and working towards common goals, they created an inter-company challenge that today is the Hercules Trophy. Teams of 5 to 7 people participate in a series off 12 sporting challenges - each with a fun twist. Each activity requires participants to think, act and perform as a team, and the emotional resonance created by the event continues at both the team and individual level long after the day.

So successful is the outcome of Hercules Trophy that the event enjoys a 91% return rate every year.
